Nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the Escambray mountain range, which is covered in lush tropical forest , Trinidad lies on the southern coast of Cuba.
Trinidad (pop. 40,000) is considered the most beautiful city in Cuba! Nowhere else is the historic center so well preserved.
Nowhere else does the way of life of the friendly and modestly living inhabitants harmonize so unchanged and harmoniously with the traditions and the associated colonial charm that emanates from the small but once rich city and captivates visitors. It is not uncommon for travelers to encounter horse-drawn carts or riders in the cobbled, virtually car-free streets, farmers (guajiros), who bring their products from the surrounding gardens and fields into the city. Every evening good groups play traditional Son or more modern Salsa rhythms.
Trinidad was founded around 1514 as the third city in Cuba by Spanish settlers, but only experienced its heyday in the 19th century thanks to the very profitable and booming trade in sugar, which was produced in the neighboring Valle de los Ingenios on extensive sugar cane plantations and via the harbor was exported from Trinidad to Europe and especially to the USA.
Language school & Spanish lessons
A Spanish standard course in Trinidad – Kuba / Cuba : from 1 week. with 20 hours/week (45′), from 8.30 a.m. or in the afternoon, from 2, 3 participants, at least 3 levels. (A1-C2) Beginner to intermediate level 2.
B Intensive course in Trinidad – Cuba / Cuba : from 1 week. with 30 hours/week Course as in A , but with an additional 2 hours of conversation lessons and repetitions to deepen what you have learned. Educational leave for Hesse, Lower Saxony and Berlin .
C Individual lessons: From 1 week with 10 hours per week (`45`) The course content can be tailored individually. We would also be happy to make you an offer for an intensity other than 10 hours
D Traveling with the teacher Combination of theoretical and applied lessons with the involvement of competent local discussion partners: Only suitable for participants with previous knowledge. These include – for additional fees – a visit to a re-privatized small finca, a state agricultural production cooperative, a ride on the old steam train through the scenic Valle de los Ingenios to the former estate of a sugar cane plantation with the Torre di Iznaga-Mancaga, unique in Latin America., visit to a hospital.

The Trinitarios are always up for a serenade.
The picturesque vintage shared taxis will take you for €2.3
from Trinidad to the beach 13 km away or back again.
Leisure in Trinidad de Cuba and the surrounding area
- City tour of Trinidad (incl.)
- Dance lessons or music lessons (drums, guitar, trumpet)
- Excursion, partly with the spectacular steam train, to the valley of the sugar cane plantations from the 18th and 19th centuries, Valle de los Ingenios (approx. 18 €).
- Horse riding trip to the nearby, charming hills and mountains with a picnic and swimming in wonderfully cool rivers (approx. €12).
- Day trip by boat across the sea to Cayo Blanco, lunch with lobster and mussels, drink incl. approx. 28 €, swimming, snorkeling and diving opportunities.
- Day trips in minibus to the neighboring towns of Cienfuegos and/or Santa Clara (55 €)
Accommodation in Trinidad
- + 2 host families: double and single rooms with breakfast. Half board can be booked optionally plus €12 in selected, elegant colonial townhouses in the center of Trinidad. About 5-15 minutes walk to the school. Laundry service, air conditioning or fan, bathroom/toilet. Some units offer a terrace and courtyard.
- We are happy to reserve hotels on request for a fee of €30, price approx. €40/day.
Cost of living in Cuba, examples: lunch (approx. 6 €), dinner (approx. 12 €), drinks (approx. 2-3 €), museums (approx. 2 €), disco (approx. 3-20 €), Taxi to the center (approx. 4-5 €).

getting there
From Germany to Havana or Varadero, then approx. 5 hours by Viazul bus to Trinidad for c. 25 – 30 cuc (approx. 18-22 €). Overnight stay in Havana possible! (approx. 20€). Transfer possible by school or host from Trinidad bus station. To enter the country you need a tourist card, which you can get from the Cuban embassy or your travel agency.
Time in Cuba: 6 hours before our time.
Exit tax approx. 25 €.
Best travel time: November to April, approx. 25-28°C during the day, 12-18°C at night.
