Description
Castiglioncello is located on the Etruscan Riviera in Italy, 35 km south of Pisa (30 minutes by regional train). A sunny place in Tuscany, typically Italian, scenic and varied. In the
hinterland there are rolling hills, while the rocky coast is punctuated with sandy bays.
If you look out to sea, you can see the islands of Elba, Gorgona, Capraia and, on a clear day, even Corsica on the horizon.
Language school & lessons in the castle
The Italian language school in Castiglioncello is affiliated with the association ARCI – Associazione Ricreativa Culturale Italiana, the largest association in Italy with around 1.5 million members.
Participants of the Italian language courses at our language school in Castiglioncello can become annual members of ARCI. The membership card is valid in all ARCI facilities in Italy (restaurants, museums, sports facilities, campsites, etc.) and allows, among other things, discounts and free admission. The cards can be applied for and issued at the secretariat at the language school in Italy.
Italian courses
A – Standard group course: 30 hours/week like A , 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., usually in smaller groups. Educational leave in Hesse and Hamburg. Serves, among other things, to work on special, mostly job-related topics. If no group is formed, 15 individual lessons will be given.
B – 15, 20 or 30 individual lessons (55′) or two-to-one lessons; ideal for couples, friends with similar previous knowledge.
Leisure and activities
Castiglioncello is the ideal starting point, not only to learn the Italian language and spend a relaxing holiday by the sea, but also to beautiful Tuscan cities such as Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, Florence, Siena, Livorno, the island of Elba and many more to visit. Even a detour to Rome (approx. 3 hours) for a weekend, for example, is easily possible.
Visits to various Etruscan museums , to a winery and evenings together with specialties from Tuscan cuisine round off a perfect stay. Our staff regularly offers organized excursions and will be happy to help you plan individual excursions in Tuscany.
Accommodation
The Villa Casa Marina residence is available to participants. It is located close to the center of Castiglioncello directly by the sea, in a spacious natural park that leads to approx. 5 m from the sea (cliffs, no descent possible).
The waterfront promenade runs over an approximately 150 m long footpath and several steps, ideal for joggers and walkers. The nearest free sandy beach is approx. 400 meters away.
The villa has 14 apartments – spread over 4 floors. All apartments are approximately 85 square meters in size and well furnished. Each apartment consists of two bedrooms, each double room (can also be reserved as a single room), 1-2 bathrooms with shower and window, a large living room with fully equipped kitchen, sofa bed and TV. All apartments are equipped with heating. (Heating period from November 15th to March 31st).
